Driven by the belief that culture is a binding factor across religion, region, language and caste, Jago Gaon team has decided to engage itstarget groups in activities that help them express their aspirations,moments of happiness, sorrow and togetherness. With this in view, a cultural festivals were organized at the time of Saraswati Pooja inDamaoderpur and Banhara villages of Bhagwanpur block to unleash the latent potential of children.
Seminar on the Hundred and Fiftieth Year Celebrations of Swami Vivekanand
A seminar was organized to commemorate the 150th birth year of Swami Vivekanand in the premises of Damoderpur High School with the objective of infusing the spirit of self
confidence and nationalism amongst the school children. Attended by school teachers, students, villagers from the neighbourhood, it had the Principal of a local college as the
chief guest, Prof. Vipin Choudhary who spoke at length in simple language the social relevance of the teaching of Swamiji.
Mahatma Gandhi & Shashtri Jayanti : In order to ensure that the current and future generations of rural India feel inspired by the lives of those who sacrificed everything for the sake of the nation, the Society keeps organizing programmes on the birthdays of great men and women of the country. With this in view, lectures by prominent locals were delivered along with the speeches by the school children on the Mahatma Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti, i.e., October 2, 2011.
